Newcomer Kitchen offers a welcoming space for newcomer women from diverse backgrounds to connect through their shared love of food. The initiative aims to unlock social and economic opportunities by nurturing their culinary passion. From honouring culinary heritage to developing future businesses, Newcomer Kitchen strives to enable prosperity and meaningful engagement within our communities.
Food fosters connection.
THE IMPACT
Over 150 newcomer women have experienced Newcomer Kitchen from the early years of Syrian food pop-ups to the development of a comprehensive food entrepreneurship training program to the establishment of a food business incubator. The social and economic impact of those interactions have multiple dimensions. However two themes remains consistent.

- Developing skillsets that build economic self sufficiency and independence

Newcomer Kitchen has received a remarkable amount of local, national and international attention over the years. Perhaps because at its heart this project is about love and compassion and seeks to find simple solutions to complex problems in ways that connect people and communities.
